With the exploration and innovation of Bebon people, DEN gradually formed four major advantageous products: steel plate, steel pipe, stainless steel, special steel, and established our own Machining processing center in order to meet customer's diverse requirements.

the abrasive is fed from a pressurized contaLi er (pressure vessel) into a blast hose, as shown in Figure 11 2. The compressed air line is piped to both the blast hose &id upper portion of the pressure vessel. Air pressure (usually 80 to 90 psi) to both the hose and pressure vessel are equal thus permitting the free fall of the abrasive through an aperture (feed point) at the bottom of the pressure vessel.

Grit Blasting an overview ScienceDirect Topics

Grit blasting is the method most commonly used to obtain satisfactory adhesion of fluoropolymer coatings. Maximum air pressures on stainless steel may exceed 100 psi (7.3 kg/cm 2). Occasionally, the abrasive is propelled by pressurized water. Sodium bicarbonate slurries have been used to remove fluorocarbon coatings in this fashion.

In reality, the abrasive is metered through an abrasive “grit” valve into a compressed air stream that passes through the bottom of the valve. The blast pressure vessel needs to be under the same pressure as the air flow to the nozzle if the abrasive is to pass through the

1 Abrasive blast cleaning, known as direct pressure blasting (DPB) is a process where surfaces are cleaned by the action of particles of grit striking at high velocity. The grit, also referred to as abrasive, is fed into a container known as a blasting kettle which is then pressurised.

Sandblasting Overview Grand Northern Products

There are 4 main types of media blasting pressure air blast, suction air blast, wheel blast and dustless. Pressure air blasting uses a sealed pressure vessel to force abrasive media into an air stream which is then directed through a hose and nozzle. Suction air blasting uses a stream of flowing air to pull media through the nozzle using the venturi effect. Wheel blasting uses a spinning wheel to sling media.

Sandblasting is the common term for abrasive blasting or grit blasting, but sand is rarely used anymore. To conform to new OSHA standards, GES does not use crystalline silica sand in their projects. Instead, safer and more effective media are available for preparing surfaces, such as steel grit and shot, glass bead, aluminum oxide, garnet and slag.

Unfortunately, the dust caused by grit blasting poses health risks and can restrict the work of other trades. The use of hydrojetting (high pressure water blasting) or slurry blasting (grit media and water) can reduce this problem.
